About the Program

The Graduate Program in International Relations at the Federal University of Uberlândia (PPGRI-UFU) was authorized in 2014 and started its activities in 2015.

PPGRI´s primary area of study is International Politics, with the following research areas: i) Foreign Policy and International Institutions; ii) International Political Economy; and iii) International Security.

 

Curriculum Composition

The Academic Master's program at PPGRI-UFU has a minimum duration of 12 months and a maximum of 24 months. The curriculum of the course comprises a total of 48 credits, distributed as follows:

12 credits in mandatory courses;
8 credits in elective courses;
1 credit in "Proficiency in Foreign Language I";
3 credits in "Qualifying Exams";
24 credits in "Master's Dissertation".
Each credit unit in courses corresponds to 15 class hours. To complete the credits for the Master's Dissertation activity, the student must enroll in the Master's Dissertation course. 

 

Objectives

The general objective of PPGRI is the development of studies and research in the field of International Politics and the training of qualified human resources for public and private institutions in the field of International Relations. The specific objectives of Posgraduate Program in International Relations are:

i) To promote systematic research and strengthen reflection in Brazil on International Relations;

ii) To promote the training of teachers, researchers, and professionals highly qualified in the field of International Relations;

iii) To promote cooperation and academic exchange, at the national and international levels, in the field of International Relations; and

iv) To establish itself as a center of excellence in the production and dissemination of knowledge in the field of International Relations.

Our mission is to develop studies and research in the field of International Relations and to train qualified human resources for public and private institutions.

 

Infrastructure

PPGRI-UFU has 1 exclusive laboratory for use by postgraduate students, equipped with 18 computers connected to the Internet, equipped with a basic package of software and specialized software, in addition to the possibility of accessing databases. Additionally, there are 2 more laboratories exclusively for use by undergraduate and postgraduate students, equipped with a total of 40 computers connected to the Internet.

PPGRI-UFU also has 3 exclusive rooms for the development of postgraduate teaching classes, one of which is equipped for video conferencing, aiming to streamline the contact of PPGE teachers and students with other schools and research centers.
